When the installation is complete, reboot the computer. <\/span><br><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">Restart-Computer -Force <\/span><br><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">&nbsp; &nbsp; Tip: If you want to update Docker later: <\/span><br><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">&nbsp; &nbsp; Check the installed version with <\/span>\n                <pre class=\"wp-block-code\"> \n                <code class=\"language-typescript line-numbers\">Get-Package -Name Docker -ProviderName DockerMsftProvider<\/code> <\/pre>\n                <p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">Find the current version with<\/span>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n                <pre class=\"wp-block-code\"> \n                <code class=\"language-typescript line-numbers\">Find-Package -Name Docker -ProviderName DockerMsftProvider<\/code> <\/pre>\n                <p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">When you&#8217;re ready, upgrade with<\/span><\/p>\n                <pre class=\"wp-block-code\"> \n                <code class=\"language-typescript line-numbers\">Install-Package -Name Docker -ProviderName DockerMsftProvider -Update -Force<\/code> <\/pre>\n                <pre class=\"wp-block-code\"> \n                <code class=\"language-typescript line-numbers\">Start-Service Docker<\/code> <\/pre>\n                <\/li>\n                <\/ul>\n                <ul style=\"margin-left: 50px;\">\n                <li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">Ensure your Windows Server system is up-to-date by running. Run the following command.<\/span>\n                <pre class=\"wp-block-code\"> \n                <code class=\"language-typescript line-numbers\">Sconfig<\/code> <\/pre>\n                <ul style=\"margin-left: 20px;\">\n                <li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">This shows a text-based configuration menu, where you can choose option 6 to Download and Install Updates.<\/span>\n                <pre class=\"wp-block-code\"> \n                <code class=\"language-typescript line-numbers\">\n                ===============================================================================\n                                         Server Configuration\n                ===============================================================================\n                \n                1) Domain\/Workgroup:                    Workgroup:  WORKGROUP\n                2) Computer Name:                       WIN-HEFDK4V68M5\n                3) Add Local Administrator\n                4) Configure Remote Management          Enabled\n                \n                5) Windows Update Settings:             DownloadOnly\n                6) Download and Install Updates\n                7) Remote Desktop:                      Disabled\n                ...\n                <\/code> <\/pre>\n                <\/li>\n                <li>&nbsp;<span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">When prompted, choose option A to download all updates.<\/span><\/li>\n                <\/ul>\n                <\/li>\n                <\/ul>\n                <h5 id='create-containers-from-imag2docker-dockerfile'  id=\"boomdevs_3\" >Create Containers from Imag2Docker Dockerfile.<\/h5>\n                <ul style=\"margin-left: 50px;\">\n                <li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">Make sure that docker installed on your Windows 2016 or Windows 10 with Anniversary updates.<\/span><\/li>\n                <\/ul>\n                <ul style=\"margin-left: 50px;\">\n                <li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">To build that Dockerfile into an image, run:<\/span>\n                <pre class=\"wp-block-code\"> \n                <code class=\"language-typescript line-numbers\">docker build -t img2docker\/aspnetwebsites.<\/code> <\/pre>\n                <\/li>\n                <li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">Here img2docker\/aspnetwebsites is the name of the image. You can give your own name based on your needs.<\/span><\/li>\n                <\/ul>\n                <ul style=\"margin-left: 50px;\">\n                <li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">When the build completes, we can run a container to start my ASP.NET sites.<\/span><\/li>\n                <\/ul>\n                <ul style=\"margin-left: 50px;\">\n                <li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">This command runs a container in the background, exposes the app port, and stores the ID of the container.<\/span>\n                <pre class=\"wp-block-code\"> \n                <code class=\"language-typescript line-numbers\">$id = docker run -d -p 81:80 img2docker\/aspnetwebsites<\/code> <\/pre>\n                <p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">Here 81 is the host port number and 80 is the container port number.<\/span><\/p>\n                <\/li>\n                <\/ul>\n                <ul style=\"margin-left: 50px;\">\n                <li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">When the site starts, we will see in the container logs that the IIS Service (W3SVC) is running:<\/span>\n                <pre class=\"wp-block-code\"> \n                <code class=\"language-typescript line-numbers\">docker logs $id<\/code> <\/pre>\n                <p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">The Service &#8216;W3SVC&#8217; is in the &#8216;Running&#8217; state.<\/span><\/p>\n                <\/li>\n                <\/ul>\n                <ul style=\"margin-left: 50px;\">\n                <li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">Now you can browse to the site running in IIS in the container, but because published ports on Windows containers don\u2019t do loopback yet, if you\u2019re on the machine running the Docker container, you need to use the container\u2019s IP address:<\/span>\n                <pre class=\"wp-block-code\"> \n                <code class=\"language-typescript line-numbers\">$ip = docker inspect --format '{{ .NetworkSettings.Networks.nat.IPAddress }}'<\/code> <\/pre>\n                <pre class=\"wp-block-code\"> \n                <code class=\"language-typescript line-numbers\">$id<\/code> <\/pre>\n                <pre class=\"wp-block-code\"> \n                <code class=\"language-typescript line-numbers\">start http:\/\/$($ip)<\/code> <\/pre>\n                <\/li>\n                <\/ul>\n                <p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; color: #535455;\">That will launch your browser and you\u2019ll see your ASP.NET Web application running in IIS, in Windows Server Core, in a Docker container.<\/span><\/p>\n                <\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a continuation of the previous posts that covered how to setup and run Image2Docker.
